Job Description:
Experience with Business Intelligence Tools: Demonstrated experience in working with
BI tools, specifically IBM Cognos and/or Microsoft Power BI, with an ability to learn
and adapt to new tools and platforms.
• Data Modelling & Reporting: Strong understanding of data modelling, report creation,
and dashboard development. Prior experience in designing and optimizing reports and
dashboards in any major BI tool is essential.
• Migration Experience: Previous experience in migrating data and reports from one BI
platform to another is highly desirable. Familiarity with ETL processes, data mapping,
and transformation is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills to assess the current IBM Cognos
environment and translate it into equivalent Power BI solutions that meet or exceed
existing functionality.
• Stakeholder Communication: Proven ability to work closely with stakeholders,
understanding their requirements, and translating those into effective BI solutions,
ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong technical background with the ability to write complex
SQL queries, perform data analysis, and troubleshoot issues within the BI platform.
• Power BI Expertise: Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI is required, with the ability to
leverage its capabilities for enhanced reporting and data visualization.
• Learning Agility: Openness to learn new technologies quickly, particularly Microsoft
Power BI, with an eagerness to leverage new capabilities for enhanced reporting and data
visualization.
• Documentation & Best Practices: Experience in creating detailed documentation for BI
processes, including migration plans, user guides, and technical specifications, following
best practices in BI development and deployment.
• Good to have: Experience with IBM Cognos is highly desirable
