Patient Care and Monitoring
1. Assess patient health status by conducting thorough examinations, reviewing test results, and
documenting medical history.
2. Monitor patients’ reactions to treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation, adjusting care
plans accordingly.
3. Track and manage symptoms, pain levels, and side effects of treatments to ensure patient
comfort and safety.
4. Perform regular assessments and manage any adverse symptoms or complications.
Treatment Administration
1. Prepare and administer prescribed medications, including chemotherapy, and follow
appropriate safety protocols.
2. Set up and operate medical equipment used in oncology treatment, ensuring accuracy and
proper function.
3. Safely handle and dispose of hazardous medications according to facility guidelines and health
regulations.
4. Coordinate with the pharmacy and oncologists to ensure accurate dosing and scheduling of
treatments.
Patient and Family Education
1. Educate patients and their families about treatment processes, side effects, recovery
expectations, and ongoing care.
2. Provide guidance on nutrition, pain management, and self-care practices to improve quality of
life.
3. Address questions or concerns and offer emotional support to patients and their families during
treatment.
Care Coordination and Collaboration
1. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (physicians, radiologists, pharmacists, and social
workers) to ensure comprehensive care.
2. Participate in care planning meetings, updating the team on patient progress and any new
developments.
3. Coordinate with social services for additional support services, including counseling and financial
assistance if needed.
